A few years ago, I met Erika on a Saturday morning in Clemson, SC. I heard her sing for the first time as she led worship for an FCA event we were holding, and I was blown away by her voice! (This was a long time before I ever thought about becoming a photographer – in fact, I didn’t even own a point & shoot camera at the time). We’ve become good friends, and I’ve had the opportunity to shoot with Erika multiple times. In fact, my first shoot with her helped start my portfolio two years ago! Erika has since moved to New York City to continue pursuing her passion. She’s worked hard and had amazing opportunities there, including her solo debut performance at Lincoln Center. At the end of the summer, she came back to Greenville to begin recording her first album at Whitestone Studios. The all-star team who worked on her recording included platinum recording artist Edwin McCain (“I’ll Be”, “I Could Not Ask For More”, “Solitude”), veteran producer Noel Golden (Matchbox 20, Edwin McCain, LeeAnn Womack, Willie Nelson), and acclaimed songwriter Mark Portmann (Josh Groban, Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, Barbra Streisand). I’m happy to announce that recording is finished and her album is released on iTunes! (Be sure to check her out and download your copy here! By purchasing the whole album, you’ll receive the digital booklet I’m showing here. So, in a way, you’re supporting me by supporting her. ).

Erika’s CD release party is now set for Wednesday, February 9 from 7-10pm at The Lazy Goat in Greenville, SC! Come out for a night of incredible music from a great friend of mine and enjoy dinner from one of my favorite restaurants ($15 minimum per person for dinner, which includes her concert!). Hard copies of her CD will be also available for $10. I’ve been beyond thrilled to be part of this project, and I’m so excited for Erika and to finally show these images from her album artwork!

So, in my last post I previewed a couple of shots from Friday night’s live album recording at the NewSpring Church Anderson campus. And as promised, here are several more shots from the night. Our worship team is hands down the best anywhere and I’m blessed to have had the opportunity to capture a glimpse of what God is doing in and through our church. The album will hopefully be released around the beginning of 2010 so make sure to pick up a hard copy or download it on iTunes when it comes out. Enjoy (I did…)!

Last night my church, NewSpring, held our first live worship album recording at our Anderson campus! All I can say is wow. God has blessed our church in some amazing ways and what we’re seeing on a regular basis is NOT normal (but oh so incredible). Here are just a couple of previews from what happened last night. I’ll do a more full post on this in the next couple days, but for now you can whet your appetite on these.

So this is my first official entry into blogworld…hey – what’s up everybody? I’ve gotta say, I’m pretty excited to finally be here! The purpose of this blog is going to be (at least I hope) loosely focused around keeping you updated on my work and what I’m up to, and of course post some photos along the way (since that’s what you’re really interested in anyways, right?). So in an effort to start off on the right foot and play a little catch up, here are a few photos from the past several weeks. Enjoy and I hope you come back. Often. Very often.

The first couple are from a headshot session in downtown Greenville with Easley High sophomore Ali Cumbee for her upcoming pageant.

A couple weeks ago, I had the opportunity to go to Tree Sound Studios in Atlanta, GA, to capture some behind-the-scenes action with Emily Lynch while she’s recording her debut album. You should check her out if you haven’t already.
