I’ve really come to love the Walpole family over the last year or so. Ever since getting to know Lauren + Chris last year for their wedding this May, I knew I was going to love the rest of Lauren’s family. Well on her bridal session, I finally had the privilege of meeting her younger sister Jennifer. Throughout the course of conversation and a few emails, I found out that Jennifer and her husband Cory hadn’t gotten to take very many portraits on their wedding day a year ago. It wasn’t long until we scheduled a day-after session! Normally, a day-after session is scheduled the day after, or even the week after, the wedding day, but who says their one-year anniversary is too late?!
This was the perfect way for them to have an entire shoot dedicated to portraits in their wedding attire – and Jennifer didn’t have to worry about getting her dress dirty! It was such an honor to have now shot for both sisters in the same family so enjoy a few of my favorites from Jennifer + Cory’s day-after session!
We started out around downtown Greenville to capture some of the urban city feel they weren’t able to get on their wedding day. I loved her bright yellow shoes! Colored shoes on wedding day is such a great way to add a little pop of color.
For some reason, this little nook felt like we were somewhere in Europe!
Jenn, you’re gorgeous.
I love finding new locations completely on accident, especially when the new spot is even better than where we intended to shoot!
These next two have such a cool, candid quality. Like you just walked up and caught them.
I won’t ever complain about a little glowy rim light.
After we left Greenville, we headed out to Jennifer’s parents’ house near Anderson to finish up in the evening sunlight and also shoot a few of their wedding day details. And I have to brag on Jennifer’s bouquet – since she didn’t have her original day-of bouquet, Katie went DIY-style and created this one for her earlier that day! I’m really going to miss having my wife around all the time when her residency program starts up in a few weeks.
Cory’s bowtie was awesome, and Jennifer’s boots were perfect for the country setting.
Jenn’s horse, Johnny, had just been given a bath so we couldn’t resist bringing him in for a few shots.
While we were at it, we shot a quick “family” portrait of Jennifer & Cory with their two pups – Ada, an Italian greyhound, & Flupa. And yes, Ada (on the left) is full-grown.

Chris, I simply adore your work! It’s amazing – my favourite wedding photographer by far!! I wanted to say – if you ever need an extra set of hands – I would LOVE the opportunity to shadow you at an event. I can hold bags, lights, run errands, help in any way. I am moving back to Canada at the end of July, so really…if you need anyone before the end of July I would love to help out – just let me know!
Thanks!
Love, love, love this shoot! Night shots are beautiful!
Thanks Kim & Danielle!
